Pittsburgh named best city for small businesses

Cities look to innovative solutions to face of urgent issues like social cohesion and climate change. Mayors around the country have pledged to innovate and buy more from small business, but are they walking the walk?

Pittsburgh, PA is walking that walk — the city (headquarters of ELITE Transit Solutions) has been named the best place in the United States to launch a small business. The city scored highest on the Small Business Accessibility Score (SBAS), providing the best discovery and decision-making experience.

Citymart — a consulting organization that helps cities find ways to innovate — released a list of the best cities for small businesses, and Pittsburgh was at the top. The organization gathered data on 56 cities, assigning a “Small Business Accessibility Score,” to each. The scores range from zero to five. Pittsburgh led the way with a score of 4.30, followed by San Antonio, Texas at 4.15 and San Diego, California at 4.07. Learn more about the rankings and view the full list on the Citymart website.
